Hostway Introduces Industry's First API For Integrated Customer & Reseller Management Of Hyper-V Private, Public And Hybrid Clouds

Las Vegas, NV and Chicago, IL (PRWEB) - Hostway Corporation today announced a major advance for potential resellers of Hyper-V cloud services as well as for organizations wanting to connect their Microsoft Hyper-V private clouds with a public cloud with the release of the FlexCloud API, the first application programming interface (API) that supports Hyper-V deployments. The new OpenStack-compatible API - available immediately to enterprises and resellers utilizing Hostway's FlexCloud Server - enables easy Hyper-V virtual machine management across multiple cloud environments and allows partners and resellers to build their services upon a cost-effective cloud platform.

Using the same commands and data structure as OpenStack, Hostway's new FlexCloud API helps facilitate portability and eliminate the vendor lock-in concerns that can arise as a result of the proprietary APIs offered by some hosting providers. Hostway customers can use the API to automate server provisioning, auto-scale servers up and down based on set performance controls, and integrate their services on an enterprise-class cloud. For example:

•     Enterprises and SMBs with a private Hyper-V cloud can integrate Hostway's FlexCloud Servers into their existing server inventory management system for one-stop management of all of their virtual machines; automate the process of adding or removing servers from the Hostway cloud as traffic ebbs and flows; and save money by scaling resources as needed.
•     Organizations of all sizes that have Hyper-V installed in their internal Windows Server environments can also instantly connect to one of Hostway's geographically dispersed public clouds to help meet their bursting, failover and compliance needs.
•     Resellers can use the API to bundle and resell their own offerings with Hostway cloud services to drive new revenue streams as well as to automate the server provisioning process and automatically scale their server inventory up or down based on demand to take full advantage of the pay-as-you-go pricing of Hostway's FlexCloud services.
•     SaaS providers who use Hostway's FlexCloud Servers to host their applications gain the ability to spin up additional resources as they attract new customers based on preset requirements, eliminating the need to have any human interaction to instantly provide the infrastructure resources needed to support their customer acquisition strategies.

The FlexCloud API extends Hostway's support for the growing number of organizations utilizing Hyper-V to reap the benefits of virtualization and the cost savings of Microsoft's licensing model. Two months ago, Hostway announced the first Hyper-V based hybrid cloud offering in the hosting marketplace, providing the benefit of enabling Hyper-V users to seamlessly port their cloud instances in and out of a Hostway hybrid environment.
