1&1 Internet Adds Features to Web Hosting Packages

PHILADELPHIA, October 25, 2005 – Continuing to stay ahead of the pack by offering the industry’s most feature-rich products for the lowest cost, 1&1 Internet, Inc., today announced that it has considerably increased the features of its shared Web hosting packages without raising prices.

The new initiative is the latest step in a value-add campaign 1&1 began in September when it announced similar comprehensive feature additions to its domain registration packages with no price increases. The company’s aggressive approach is an effort to set itself apart from competitors by reinforcing its position as the industry leader in providing customers with maximum value for the money.

Among other things, all of 1&1’s various Web hosting plans will now include increased Web space, greater traffic allowances, more databases and 2GB email storage. Additionally, 1&1 will provide ASP or PHP scripting support with all of its packages, along with free .info domain registrations--in addition to the free .com, .net and .org domain registrations the plans previously featured. The company has also introduced two new entry level products: 1&1 Linux Beginner and 1&1 Microsoft Beginner.

A specific example of the type and breadth of the new enhancements 1&1 has made to its hosting packages can be seen in a few of the upgrades to its popular Home Package. Among other things, for the same price of $4.99 per month, the plan now expands available Web space from 1000MB to 5000 MB, increases traffic allowance to 100GB from 250GB and includes 500 mailboxes, up from 200.

Similar improvements—and others—have been made to most of 1&1’s other shared hosting packages as well.
