11:47:39 - 23 March 2005

Inclusive Features Add Power, Increase ValueConfigurable Firewall based on Cisco Hardware for all Root ServersSerial Console, Back-up Service and GeoTrust SSL-Certificate at no extra cost

PHILADELPHIA, March 23, 2005 - 1&1 Internet, Inc., has unveiled a wide range of new and upgraded features for its Root, Windows and Managed Server packages that will offer users optimal value, added power and maximum performance.

Highlights of 1&1's comprehensive server enhancements include increased bandwith, a 50 percent price reduction on additional transfer volume and a free, full-disk-size FTP backup, along with a strengthened firewall, new Serial Console, GeoTrust Dedicated SSL Certificate, Root Server Re-Image and Windows Rescue Image. Also, each 1&1 server package will continue to include a Productivity Software Suite worth $600 at no extra cost.

"These server improvements exemplify 1&1's philosophy of ensuring that our customers have every tool they need for running professional and effective server applications," said 1&1 Chairman Andreas Gauger. "If you consider all we're offering for the price, these packages are clearly among the most competitive you will find, which meets our goal of providing products of maximum value for the money."

The specifics of 1&1's upgrades include an increased bandwith on all servers of up to 1,500 GB and a memory upgrade of up to 2,048 MB DDR-RAM. 1&1 has also reduced the purchase price of extra bandwith to 49-cents per gigabyte. The new 1&1 Serial Console gives users access to their server through an SSH client, even if the network connection is interrupted. The full-disk-size FTP means users will have enough backup space to match their hard drive size, so they can easily backup and protect all data.

Based on Cisco hardware, the new external 1&1 Firewall is fully configurable and filters traffic to prevent attacks before they even reach a user's server. For added security, 1&1 is including one GeoTrust Dedicated SSL Certificate with all servers, and offering additional certificates for just $49 per year. The new Root Server Re-Image offers users the opportunity to replace the pre-installed system with alternative pre-configured Linux-based operating systems through their 1&1 Control Panel. Finally, 1&1 is including a Windows Server 2003 Rescue Image feature which provides the ability to repair and restore damaged systems via a Java-compatible or VNC client.
