ArrowWeb Able to Relocate IT Operations Quickly with Inflow

00:00:00 - 16 September 2004

September 16, 2004 - Today, Inflow-Raleigh-Durham, a leading provider of outsourced technology services, announced the addition of new client ArrowWeb Inc., a full service Internet company specializing in web hosting, web site design, customized programming and e-commerce. ArrowWeb migrated into Inflow in the hours before the onset of Hurricane Frances.

ArrowWeb and the company's president recently relocated to Raleigh-Durham, but their Internet infrastructure remained in the company's Melbourne, Florida facility. ArrowWeb was planning to move its entire infrastructure up to North Carolina during the Fall of 2004, but the rougher than usual hurricane season rushed the company's plans.

With Hurricane Frances heading for the Florida coast in early September, ArrowWeb needed a plan for quickly relocating its mission-critical applications. The company had been reviewing local and regional IT partners for several months, and decided on Inflow, largely due to its world class facilities and superior customer service. The company's primary concern was finding a data center that was capable of keeping its server network available and online regardless of event, 24 x 7.

In an attempt to get ahead of the storm, ArrowWeb's technical team turned down its infrastructure in Florida while Inflow's technical team simultaneously prepared the data center and Internet infrastructure to accommodate ArrowWeb's equipment.

"Having assisted many other companies through weather-related emergencies, Inflow was all too happy to help ArrowWeb move to a more secure situation," said Kip Turco, general manager of Inflow-Raleigh. "Our redundant facilities and Business Continuance solutions & capabilities provide the ultimate reliability and recoverability for businesses, nationwide."

"We were very relieved to find a data center that could facilitate a move this quickly," said Dave Hagewood, president & CEO of ArrowWeb. "Now that the relocation is behind us, we are very excited about passing on the benefits of a state-of-the-art data center to our customers."

Over Labor Day weekend, while hurricane Frances directly hit Melbourne, Florida, ArrowWeb and Inflow's Raleigh-Durham Operations and Engineering teams migrated all of ArrowWeb's equipment into Inflow-Raleigh, racked the entire infrastructure and brought ArrowWeb back online to full capability. Inflow expedited the install and ArrowWeb was able to complete the move after only two days.

ArrowWeb utilizes network data services from Inflow including redundant Internet connectivity and 24x7x365 remote support from Inflow's technical team.
