United Hockey LeagueTeams with Affinity Telecom

00:00:00 - 10 September 2004

BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 10 -- MobilePro Corp. wholly owned subsidiary Affinity Telecom announced that they have launched an extensive fundraising opportunity with the United Hockey League. Affinity Telecom helps organizations raise money through the sale of their telecommunications products and services.

As a result of this partnership, the league's 1.5 million fans, as well as players and employees, will have an opportunity to transfer their phone service, cell phones and Internet service to Affinity and significantly reduce their cost, while 5% of their total bill will be gifted back to the local team.

Affinity has also been chosen to provide all telecommunication services to the executive office of the league, as well as the opportunity to generate over $350,000 in annual revenue as the preferred telecommunications provider to each of the teams. Affinity estimates the total value of this deal to be at least $1.4 million in revenue over the first two years of the agreement.

The UHL has 14 teams in seven different states. Affinity and the UHL will engage in an extensive reciprocal marketing arrangement. This will allow Affinity prominent advertising placement at many of the arenas throughout the league. Affinity is also examining a named sponsor opportunity for the UHL "U-Ticker," the online, up-to-date statistics page on the UHL's website.

"This is a big win for Affinity. This opportunity allows us exposure to over one million fans in secondary markets that are traditionally void of telecommunications choice. This will assist in showcasing our unique methodology in acquiring and retaining customers," said Yianni Kopanakis of Affinity Telecom

Kevin Kuykendall, Mobilepro Corp. Group President of Telco Operations, said, "The Affinity-UHL program is a template for other minor and major league sports. Affinity will work diligently to make this relationship a model that can be duplicated in other areas. Working with organizations to help them reach their goals is how Affinity separates itself from its competition. Affinity has many such relationships currently in place, including the American Red Cross and the Special Olympics."

Richard Brosal, UHL CEO, had this to say about the partnership: "I am excited about how Affinity's products and service will enhance our fans' experience. The creativity and robust offerings that Affinity brings to the table is what sold me on the program. It is very important to the UHL, and to me personally, that our partners derive as much value from our relationship as we do. Based on their win-win-win approach, I truly believe Affinity is well positioned to be a long-term player with the UHL."
