September 9, 2004 - (Hostreview.com)- Speedera Networks Inc., a leading global provider of on-demand distributed application hosting and content delivery services, and Macromedia today announced the immediate availability of a live video version of Macromedia® Flash™ Video Streaming Service powered by Speedera, which is delivered using its globally distributed on-demand network and server infrastructure.

"We're very happy to be adding this compelling new service as the demand for Flash video has ramped sharply," said Ajit Gupta, president and CEO, Speedera Networks. "Flash video enables companies to provide a seamless experience across a broad range of desktop platforms. Now developers can create and broadcast remarkably rich, live content that is already spurring a revolution in the use of streaming media on the web."

Speedera will be demonstrating the new service at the Macromedia partner pavilion (Hall 7, Stand 938) during the IBC2004 Exhibition September 10-14 held at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam.

The new live version of Flash Video Streaming Service http://www.speedera.com/primary/services/flashpromo.htm  powered by Speedera enables enterprises and other organizations to stream live corporate communications events, deliver distance learning, stage live entertainment events, communicate with clients, and deliver other live streaming broadcasts to global audiences without the hassle of setting up and maintaining their own streaming server hardware and network infrastructure.

This hosted solution powered by Speedera is built on Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX and integrated directly into the delivery, tracking, and reporting structure of Speedera's robust, globally distributed, on-demand network.

"Macromedia Flash enables companies to deliver expressive, streaming content that redefines how users can interact with video," said Chris Hock, director of product management, Macromedia.

The live Flash video streaming partnership deepens the existing relationship between Speedera and Macromedia. Macromedia has long relied on Speedera to deliver downloads of Macromedia Flash Player to users worldwide and to track performance, availability, and other key site metrics.
