Hyperion and Sun to Deliver Solaris Solutions

00:00:00 - 31 August 2004

August 31, 2004 - (HostReview.com) - Hyperion (www.hyperion.com) and Sun Microsystems, Inc. (sun.com), today announced a multi-year global agreement to develop and market Business Performance Management solutions running on Sun's Solaris Operating System (OS). The joint solutions will address customers' need for greater business insight across their organizations.

Companies are challenged by a highly competitive business climate and new compliance regulations--including the Sarbanes-Oxley act in the United States and International Financial Reporting Standards in Europe--that demand both greater performance and higher levels of control and transparency.

"We are a global organization and it is crucial to our business to maintain 24x7 availability. Using Hyperion's software on Sun's platform, we get the stability, service and high availability that Sun provides while obtaining insight into our IT spending at the most granular level," Janis Hogue, CIO and senior vice president of Information Technology for Hudson Advisors. "With the information provided by Hyperion's software, the entire Global IT team feels a greater accountability for expenditures, and is better aligned with goals that are key to the company's success."

"Hyperion and Sun have been working together to help our customers meet their business goals by driving the adoption of Business Performance Management solutions as enterprise standards," said Bill Gaylord, vice president, Market Development for Hyperion. "Our joint solutions will allow customers to easily and cost-effectively deploy Business Performance Management solutions that can scale to meet the current and future needs across their global enterprise."

Hyperion is the global leader in Business Performance Management software. More than 9,000 customers - including 91 of the Fortune 100 - rely on Hyperion software to translate strategies into plans, monitor execution and provide insight to improve financial and operational performance.

Named one of the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For 2004, Hyperion employs approximately 2,500 people in 20 countries. Distributors represent Hyperion in an additional 25 countries.
