HUDSON, Fla. (PRWEB) - Daniel Page, Director of Business Development at search engine optimization focused hosting provider ASEOHosting today announced how brands can most-effectively leverage Instagram’s Shoppable Posts feature.
“If your business has a digital storefront and an Instagram feed, you’re missing out on sales by not leveraging the Shoppable Posts feature,” says Page.
Data released by Instagram shows over a billion monthly active Instagram accounts worldwide, and 80 percent of those follow a business. “That’s a ton of prospective leads,” Page said.
With Shoppable Posts, a business can tag products that appear in its Instagram photos. Through integration with several major eCommerce platforms, that business’s customers can view pricing information and make purchases directly on Instagram. After a 2017 test run in the United States, Instagram rolled out the feature to approximately 45 countries in 2018.
Page added that there are some qualifications that a business must meet before it can leverage Shoppable Posts. Per Instagram Help, they are:
- Have an Instagram Business account connected to a Facebook Business page.
- Primarily sell physical goods.
- Create and maintain a Facebook Catalog.
- Be based in an approved market.
- Comply with Instagram’s merchant agreement and commerce policies.
- Submit your account for review and be approved by Instagram.
Page recommends that a brand looking to make use of Shoppable Posts should keep to their existing content strategy, only tagging products in new and existing posts where relevant. This includes reposting content made by influencers and followers.
“With Shoppable Posts, the value of user-created content and sponsored influencers has never been higher,” said Page. “These posts already drove awareness and generated sales - but now, they can do so in a manner that’s more convenient than ever.”
Page also recommends tagging and creating posts based on follower demographics, tagging locations, and running the occasional Instagram-based promotion.
