NEW YORK (PRWEB)March 14, 2019 - Roger Thornton, AT&T Cybersecurity VP of Products & Technology, will deliver the keynote address at the 4th Annual Cyber Investing Summit Thursday, May 16th, 2019 in New York City. The Cyber Investing Summit is an all-day conference focused on the financial opportunities, trends and forecasts in the rapidly growing cybersecurity sector. Roger Thornton has over 25 years of experience in the Silicon Valley and abroad helping to develop and grow new companies and products in the computer and network security industry. He has served as Chief Technology Officer of AlienVault, a cyber threat detection and response company, since 2012. Mr. Thornton was named VP of Products & Technology for AT&T’s Cybersecurity division following its acquisition of AlienVault in 2018.

Mr. Thornton continues to work in an advisory capacity with select venture capital firms and startup companies worldwide. He also provides counsel and advice to corporate executives and government leaders regarding cybersecurity policy and emerging trends.

Mr. Thornton founded security software company, Fortify Software, which was acquired by HP in 2010. Prior to Fortify, he spent ten years working with leading venture capital firms, where he specialized in high impact delivery of technology products and services and helped guide the launch of several successful businesses.

Over his career, Mr. Thornton has architected key systems for ETRADE and eBay, helped incubate and launch Good Technologies, Inc., and held leadership roles with some of the earliest pioneers of Object-Oriented technology and top-tier technology firms: Centerline Software, Apple Computer (Taligent), and Sun Microsystems (JavaSoft). Mr. Thornton learned about startup management early in his career at Cypress Semiconductor. Mr. Thornton earned his BS and MS degrees in Engineering with honors at San Jose State University.
