Mobile-intranet Cloud Services (MCS) provide the enabling secure network and cloud fabric coupled with a real-time, multi-modal human-in-the-loop cloud platform to offer practical AI capabilities to robots

  • DATA A1 mobile device features dual OS platform, secure, always on connectivity to cloud AI, and a “sandwich” design for modular expandability

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(Mobile World Congress Americas 2017) CloudMinds Technology today announced key building blocks to deliver the next generation intelligent robotic services:

The Mobile-intranet Cloud Services (MCS), a new intelligent cloud robot framework, supports:

  • Secure, always-on device-to-cloud connectivity over global private networks protected by robust Blockchain-based authentication.
  • Intelligent cloud AI platform augmented with real-time, multi-modal Human-in-the-loop systems.
  • Complete intelligent cloud robotics services with broad application to key verticals - healthcare, retail, finance, and public sector.

The Cloud-enabled DATA A1 mobile phone Robot Control Unit (RCU) features:

  • First virtualized dual OS mobile phone platform for data and software isolation.
  • Innovative “sandwich” hardware design with PCIe connectivity supporting application specific expansion modules, such as medical devices.
  • First mobile phone robotic control unit.

“As the world’s first cloud robotics operator, CloudMinds provides the critical technologies and capabilities to enable the next generation robotic operations worldwide. We are introducing our MCS capabilities, coupled with the DATA A1 robot control unit, to effectively deliver this innovative solution to our customers,” noted Bill Huang, CEO and founder of CloudMinds.

“Cloud robotics holds great promise for the future of service delivery in many markets. Once again, the network will prove to be the key platform to help deliver the future. A secure, high performance and low latency network fabric will serve as a strong enabler to deliver on the promise of this revolution,” opined Brad Casemore, IDC’s Research Director, Datacenter Networks.

“CloudMinds vision is perfectly aligned with the basic principals underlying Kindred's work today,” said George Babu, Kindred co-founder and chief product officer. “We both believe that AI and robotics will be used to enhance the quality of our day-to-day lives, and in particular, how we work. The dramatic reductions in cost, in conjunction with the new capabilities AI and robotics creates, will open a range of new market services. A secure, high-performance, low-latency private network for communicating with robots will make it easier to keep humans in the loop, and achieve Kindred's mission to create human-like intelligence in machines.”

“The computing requirements for robots is complex and demanding: the real-time balance and high-speed control must be on local embedded computing, but perception, human interaction, path planning, multi-robot coordination, and other high-level reasoning will likely utilize more powerful cloud computing tools. We are excited to work with CloudMinds, the first cloud robot operator, to implement this powerful combination of advanced mobility and off board cloud computing,” said Jonathan Hurst, Chief Technology Officer, Agility Robotics.
