SingleHop continues year of record growth with expansion into new office and increase in personnel

11:08:06 - 13 February 2009

Chicago, IL: February 13, 2009:  Chicago-based managed web hosting provider SingleHop, Inc., has completed a build out of large new offices to accommodate more personnel, in yet another indication that their business continues on a growth streak in spite of the economy.  SingleHop, founded in 2006, grew 673% in 2008 and was one of one of the fastest growing startups in Chicago, and the fastest growing web hosting firm in Illinois in 2008.  Their new offices, five times larger than their previous, are located at 621 West Randolph Floors 3 & 4, near the companies’ NOC at 601 West Polk St.

SingleHop has continued to add employees to support its growth, and has plans to add 15 positions by Q2 09, making it one of the few technology companies in Chicago that is not only growing but actively hiring.

“We feel that customers respond to a firm that they know, that listens to them and that has continually maintained lower costs and stellar customer services throughout their history.  Many firms are now adopting a survival mentality and applying our principles, shutting the barn door after the horse has left.  We built a business around this commitment to our client base and have been rewarded with brand loyalty during the recession,” says Zak Boca, President and CEO of SingleHop.

In addition to the increase of personnel in 2009, SingleHop will be announcing a second data center location, as well as a number of development advancements to their LEAP system, and mobile applications for clients to manage their systems.

SingleHop was founded by Chicago-entrepreneurs Dan Ushman and Zak Boca.  In 2003 the two serial entrepreneurs founded midPhase Services, Inc., a shared hosting company. The company grew to host over 160,000 clients around the world and became one of the fastest growing hosting companies in the industry.  midPhase was acquired by London-based UK2 Group in December 2007.
