SingleHop to offer the industry's most power efficient server, the Atom, at $99 a month

10:55:20 - 31 October 2008

Chicago, IL: October 31, 2008:  Chicago-based managed dedicated hosting provider, SingleHop, Inc., today announced the deployment of the hot new dual core Intel® Atom server, at an ultra competitive $99 per month.   “The Intel processor is based on an entirely new design, built for low power…,” says Intel Executive Vice President Sean Maloney.

“We are one of the first companies in the world to offer this great server and have them available immediately.  We have always been committed to deploying the most power efficient servers and will continue to invest in this type of innovative new technology,” says Zak Boca, president of SingleHop.

The Atom 330 clocks in at 1.6GHz, 1MB of cache, and is based on Intel’s Dual-Core Technology. Additionally, it specs out at 533MHz FSB, 64-bit processing with a peak TDP of only 8W. “The Atom has faster memory which eliminates bottlenecks created when multiple processor cores compete for access to the main memory.  It’s faster and far more power efficient than the dedicated server industry standard Pentium 4,” adds Boca.

"We have thoroughly tested the Atom server, and it's ready to be provisioned via our automated provisioning systems. The server will be priced at $99 per month, and will include 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. This server is a win-win, because it's fast, extremely affordable, and the power costs are obviously substantially lower to our company,”  says Dan Ushman, Vice President of SingleHop.

Maintaining their commitment to providing the best service in the industry, all SingleHop servers include a dedicated Account Executive, redundant bandwidth providers with 10Gbps of capacity, flexible management options, and LEAP, a complete and innovative approach to managing servers.
