SingleHop announces "Supercharged Server-Line" pre-launch offer, representing the future of Dedicated Servers

Chicago, IL, July 28, 2008: SingleHop, a Chicago managed hosting provider, today announced that it is accepting pre-orders for its up-and-coming Supercharged Server-line, which they believe represents the future of dedicated servers.  These servers are designed to handle the ever increasing power requirements of the evolving Internet.  SingleHop customers can pre-order the first of these new servers for $199; the regular price will be $279.  The servers will be available on August 1, 2008.

"Websites and the software they run are requiring more and more memory and resources to function properly, and users are demanding a faster, more-real-time experience.  We are releasing this new server to launch the line that will ensure our customers can take advantage of the power of the online world," said Zak Boca, President & CEO of SingleHop.

The first server in the Supercharged line will be the popular Intel Xeon 5410 Harpertown. Complete with a 250 GB hard drive, 6 GB of RAM, 5 TB of Bandwidth and SingleHop’s cornerstone LEAP customer portal, which offers users a Webtop interface to manage their dedicated servers, the Supercharged series servers will be available as a pre-launch special offering clients large savings, and a lot of power.

“The Harpertown 5410 Xeon server is one of Intel’s finest quad-core CPU’s. We added 6 GB of RAM because RAM is where almost every large website bottlenecks first. We believe that a certain level of RAM is needed for modern web applications to function, which is why we recently announced that we will be upgrading ALL of our existing customer servers to 2GB of RAM, at no cost to the clients,” adds Boca.

The pre-order works like this:  Customers visit SingleHop’s website and pre-register. Once the server becomes available on August 1, 2008, everyone who pre-registered will receive a special link to purchase the server for $199. The link will be valid for exactly 24 hours. At the same time, and going forward, SingleHop will offer the Harpertown servers at their normal retail price ($279 per month) in the Supercharged configuration. The pre-launch special is first come, first served.

Earlier last week SingleHop also expanded their PARAMOUNT series of fully managed servers by adding two new Xeon Clovertown 5310 configurations. “The success of our PARAMOUNT series has shown a big demand for fully managed services by our clients,” continued Zak, “While the Supercharged series of servers is priced as unmanaged, clients will be given the opportunity to utilize our flexible management services, which enables the client to simply pay for the managed services that they require, or take it unmanaged at the list price.”
