Customers Offered New & Improved Site Seal Service that Comes Free with all GlobalSign SSL Certificates

GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com), one of the longest established Certification Authorities (CA) and specialists in SSL security, today announced the availability of a new SSL Secure Site Seal service that comes free with GlobalSign's range of SSL services.  After consultation with its global customer base, the service has received significant aesthetic enhancements to support multiple seal designs, sizes and formats (static Gif or Flash).  In addition to the new style seals, focus has been placed on using the SSL Secure Site Seals to help web sites educate their visitors on the security technology they employ to protect against phishing attacks and eavesdropping.  When clicked, the site seal profile displays easy to understand web site security information and also allows organizations to display details such as trading address and telephone number. This gives visitors visible, real-time assurance that the website is authentic and protected.

Displaying site seals representing trust and security is essential for web sites to gain the confidence of their visitors, and the GlobalSign SSL Secure Site Seal acts as a means to communicate to web site visitors that the site sees its customer’s protection as a key priority by opting for a leading, high quality security solution.  This, in turn, increases user confidence that the web site is authentic and any data transmitted between the user’s browser and the web site’s server will be secure.

“With protection against fraud and phishing placed high in an enterprise’s risk management strategy, the need to visibly show a web visitor that the site is secure is growing at an unprecedented rate,” said Johan Sys, CEO GlobalSign Inc.  “The enhancement GlobalSign has made to the SSL Secure Site Seal service is set to improve how web sites can communicate their investments in security to web site visitors, who in turn have the rare opportunity to better understand how SSL security helps them, and of course, it is all free!”

GlobalSign SSL certificates are supported by all popular browsers, PDAs, video consoles and mobile phones and provide up to 256 bit strong encryption.  Each certificate is issued with the free trust enhancing clickable Site Seal and warranties ranging from $130,000 to $300,000.  All GlobalSign SSL offerings are available immediately through the GlobalSign web site and its worldwide reseller & partner network.
