Gold Star Transportation Deploys FaxCore to Drive its Fax Automation Processes with .NET API Integration

01:32:08 - 31 July 2007

Parker, CO  – FaxCore Corporation, a provider of fax and document server automation solutions, today announced that Gold Star Transportation (www.GoldStarTransportation.com), a leading freight brokerage company, has successfully deployed FaxCore to support its business-critical fax communications. Colorado-based TransOptions Messaging, Inc. (TMI) led the FaxCore implementation which displaced the company’s previous RightFax system.

Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, Gold Star is a transportation leader serving more than 10,000 customers nationwide including blue chip companies such as Coca-Cola, Proctor & Gamble, Con Agra, Georgia Pacific and Domino’s Pizza.  Founded in 1982, the freight brokerage company relies heavily on fax communications to provide superior coast to coast transportation logistics.
“Many companies we deal with do not have Internet or e-mail so fax is the best option to communicate and confirm orders,” explained Corey Behrends, systems administrator at Gold Star.

As part of company procedures, a minimum of two faxes are required to confirm an order and coordinate the shipment.  Since their previous RightFax-based system could not scale and natively integrate with several new applications, Behrends and Gold Star turned to FaxCore to upgrade their company’s fax communications.  “We needed the capability to integrate fax within various applications, requiring a native .NET application programming interface (API) -- this allows our users to manage orders more efficiently,” added Behrends.

With FaxCore fully implemented, Gold Star noticed significant time savings from the system which in turn has led to associated cost savings.  “Without automated faxing, our users would be forced to process a paper-based fax, including the time to print, walk to the fax machine, and wait for a confirmation.  At an average of 150-plus faxes per day, traditional faxing translates to 37 man hours, which is very costly.  With the ability to send faxes automatically via FaxCore, we have reduced the processing time from 15 minutes to about 15 seconds,” added Behrends.
“We continue to see that fax remains a preferred method of business communications especially in industries that do not embrace e-mail for important transactions,” said Tom Linhard, Director of Channel Sales for FaxCore. “By integrating FaxCore, Gold Star has reduced costs while simultaneously increasing workflow.”
