XO Communications Announces Nationwide Network Services Campaign for Large Enterprises and Service Providers

05:36:19 - 28 February 2007

LAS VEGAS -- (CompTel PLUS Spring 2007 Convention + Expo) -- In response to increased customer demand for network bandwidth and to give large enterprises and service provider customers a better choice in the wake of industry consolidation, XO Communications today announced a new campaign to offer the industry's most competitive rates and guarantees for high-capacity network services delivered over its extensive nationwide inter-city and metro networks.

The XO campaign offers carriers, cable companies, content providers, large enterprises and wireless companies increased incentives to leverage XO's suite of inter-city and metro network transport solutions, including Ethernet, IP transit, and wavelength services. To support the campaign, XO has initiated the 3 Guarantee Program consisting of the following guarantees that XO will offer to any large enterprise and wholesale customer to beat valid competing offers for comparable high-capacity network services:

-- Best Price Guarantee: XO will beat any competing price for 2.5 Gbps and 10 Gbps wavelength services along select major XO network routes.
-- Install Guarantee: XO will provide a one month service credit for these wavelength services if it fails to meet the agreed upon service delivery date.
-- 90-Day Risk Free Trial Guarantee: XO will allow customers to trial its IP Transit Service for one 90-day period without commitment.  If the customer is not satisfied, the customer only pays for the services used under the trial.

To meet anticipated demand, XO will pre-deploy additional capacity across its nationwide network and in the more than twenty of the largest carrier hotels in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, Palo Alto, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle.

"As a result of customer demand and success we have seen thus far, XO has taken additional actions to meet growing demand for high-bandwidth network services," said Ernie Ortega, president of XO Carrier Services. "Demand is also increasing as carriers, service providers and large enterprises are looking for new providers in the face of industry consolidation. With our extensive nationwide and metro networks, XO offers customers an extremely attractive alternative."

Today's announcement further demonstrates XO's ongoing commitment as a leading provider of nationwide inter-city and metro network services to carriers, service providers and large enterprises with high-bandwidth requirements to connect locations nationwide. In October 2006, XO announced the completion of its new, 18,000-mile nationwide long haul inter-city fiber optic network, with an initial 100 Gbps of capacity and a potential capacity up to 400 Gbps between any two cities on the XO network.

The XO nationwide inter-city network connects 75 major metropolitan markets across the United States. In addition to its extensive inter-city network, XO owns 9,100 route miles, consisting of more than 1 million fiber miles, of metro fiber networks in major metropolitan markets across the United States. XO has deployed highly advanced digital optical technology across its nationwide inter-city network, enabling XO to provision services faster and provide a broad range of higher-speed data transport services, including:

-- Ethernet services from GigE to 10 GigE speeds
-- IP Transit services from OC-3 to OC-192 speeds
-- Private Line services from OC-3 to OC-192 speeds
-- Wavelength services at 2.5 Gbps and 10 Gbps speeds
