eGix Acquires Noblesville Company

16:31:27 - 05 January 2005

Steve Johns, president and CEO of Carmel-based eGIX Inc., today announced that eGIX has acquired Indiana-based iLectris Inc. further strengthening eGIX's base of business customers in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas.

"Although iLectris is known as an industry leader in data services, it has lacked a comprehensive Voice and Unified Messaging offering," said Douglass. "By joining the eGIX family, iLectris makes a vast array of communication services and products available to its customers."

Headquartered in Noblesville, iLectris provides Internet Data Services such as T1, DSL, Email, and Web Hosting to a wide business base throughout central Indiana. iLectris was founded in early 2000 by Matthew Douglass and Andrew Haldrup and was one of first Internet Service Providers to offer DSL in the state.

Douglass added that iLectris has consistently strived to provide cutting-edge solutions to its business customers, and the unique communication services that eGIX will deliver is an extension of that commitment.

"We're very excited to be bringing new products to the iLectris customer base like our eVOLVE IP Communication Services and other VoIP business applications," said Johns. "eGIX specializes in customizing and converging technologies to meet the needs of specifically small to medium-sized businesses, so this partnership is a natural fit."

Headquartered in Carmel, Ind., eGIX is one of the largest integrated communications providers in the U.S. with a national network operating in 37 of the top 50 metropolitan service areas.
