Zeus Launches New Version of Traffic Management Technology

10:40:24 - 28 October 2005

New traffic management technology with the launch of Version 4, the latest addition to the award-winning Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager range, announced Zeus (www.zeus.com).

Taking traffic management to another level, ZXTM V4 incorporates a range of new features to further accelerate applications and provide end-users with a seamless online experience.

A new XML/SOAP Control API strengthens ZXTM's existing unique integration capabilities by allowing ZXTM to drive and be driven by other OEM/third-party applications or devices on the network. This means that ZXTM can be used to request additional capacity from a suitably-equipped provisioning server during periods of high demand, or to push out policy changes to Intrusion Prevention Systems when ZXTM detects an application-based attack.

As a further enhancement to ZXTM's application acceleration capabilities, V4 offers Web Content Caching. Speeding up the delivery of content, this new feature reduces latency and bandwidth costs, relieving load from web and application servers and improving quality of experience for users.

V4's unique capability of 'differentiated caching' allows several different versions of the same page to be cached - for example, a different version of a home page for casual browsers or logged-in users.

With a new look user interface and further improvements to the RuleBuilder within ZXTM, optional support for FIPS level 3 SSL key management and powerful enhancements to TrafficScript, ZXTM V4 continues to break new boundaries in application traffic management.

Paul Di Leo, CEO at Zeus Technology says: "We are constantly developing ways to improve technology to ensure our customers can stay one step ahead of the competition today, while preparing their systems for the challenges of tomorrow."
