IBM To Introduce the Genographic Project Podcast

IBM (www.ibm.com) announced that the fourth podcast in the series, "IBM and the Future of ... " has begun on its investor Web site. The podcast is called "IBM and the Future of our Past."
 
"IBM and the Future of our Past" introduces the Genographic Project, a landmark five-year study conducted by IBM and the National Geographic Society. The Genographic Project is collecting hundreds of thousands of DNA samples to put together a map of how humans migrated out of Africa and populated the planet.

The podcast is hosted by Ben Edwards and features a discussion between world-renowned geneticist and anthropologist Dr. Spencer Wells, who heads the Genographic Project, and Ajay Royyuru, head of IBM's Computational Biology Center.

The public can contribute to this landmark initiative by purchasing a Genographic Project cheek swab kit and submitting their DNA samples to the study. Kits Maybe obtained at www.nationalgeographic.com/genographic.

While the current information on its investor Web site is largely historical, IBM's new podcast series discusses both general technology trends and IBM innovations in a variety of emerging business and technology areas.

Future topics will include "IBM and the Future of ... " healthcare, computer gaming, work and banking.
