EDS Announces Executive Appointments

EDS (eds.com) announced three key senior management appointments to its Enterprise Risk Management organization.

Mike Sample has been named vice president, Executive Operations and Enterprise Risk Management. Sample, who has been serving as acting chief risk officer since March, will lead EDS' Enterprise Risk Management organization. He will continue reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Mike Jordan.

In his expanded role, Sample is responsible for executive operations, including support for EDS' Board of Directors and its governance committee; corporate aviation; health and safety; corporate security and risk management.

“Mike's deep understanding of EDS' global business and his more than three decades of IT services experience are the right combination to further strengthen EDS' risk management operations,” said Jordan.

EDS also announced the following appointments in the Enterprise Risk Management organization reporting to Sample:

Rebecca Whitener has been appointed vice president, Enterprise Risk Management and chief risk officer. Whitener will work with EDS leaders in developing and supporting cross-functional operational risk management solutions.

Before joining EDS, Whitener helped launch IBM's worldwide privacy offerings. She left IBM to co-found and become executive vice president and chief operating officer of Fiderus, a professional services company focusing on security and privacy solutions.

David Morrow has been named director, Enterprise Risk Management and chief security & privacy officer (CSPO). He will be responsible for strengthening EDS' global i nformation security and privacy policies and procedures.
