Media Bazaar Picks SAVVIS to Support Broadcasting Services

02:36:46 - 05 October 2005

SAVVIS, Inc. (www.savvis.com), an IT utility services provider, today announced that Media Bazaar LLC, a global broadcasting network that provides licensed and encrypted media content, has deployed SAVVIS’ Content Delivery Network (CDN) to support its two key web broadcasting services.

Cinema on Web, also known as “GO COW GO,” is a next generation multi-media screening technology platform. "My GO COW GO," is an innovative web service that combines a complete free web theatre with simple web broadcasting applications for the general public.

My “GO COW GO” creates income opportunities by enabling film and video producers to easily broadcast film and video content with cinema quality over the Web without the cost of satellite or cable.

“My GO COW GO” contains all the built-in tools required for easily creating a web theatre that incorporates pricing, payment, collection, encoding and uploading. Content includes first-run movies, television programming, music videos, sports, concerts, gaming, shopping and food networks, and a myriad of other online business opportunities.

“Until now, it has been difficult for individual producers to break into the multibillion dollar media industry and distribute content directly to consumers,” said Dr. Banad Viswanath, Co-chairman of Media Bazaar.

“We believe "My GO COW GO" has the potential to attract over 50 million customers and exhibitors monthly," said Al Mason, CEO of Media Bazaar.

Media Bazaar, which includes ITV New York, is a 27-year veteran of digital media content distribution. Through “GO COW GO”, it provides multiple channels of Indian television programming and first run movie content via cable operators and broadcasters worldwide, such as Time Warner, Comcast, and CableVision. Under the terms of the agreement, SAVVIS will also host “GO COW GO” and the SAVVIS CDN will stream a variety of television programming directly to online users as on-demand content.

“GO COW GO” expects over $500 million in pay-per-view customer traffic revenue from 2006 to 2008. This is based on forecasts of users paying $5 for a pay-per-view ticket for a simultaneous theatrical release movie and $0.90 - $1.99 for classic hits.

“By offering first-run movies over the Internet concurrently with their theatrical release in India, “GO COW GO” will provide a global audience to the Bollywood film, music, and entertainment industry through a secure system that defeats piracy,” said Carrie Flaska, President of Media Bazaar.

Media Bazaar is the first to give the power of web broadcasting to the general public through a multiplex theater on the Internet. Cinema on Web, also known as “GO COW GO” creates the next generation multi-media screening technology platform (COW) to provide cinema quality on-demand Hollywood, Bollywood, Sports, Music Videos, Live Events, TV Networks, and Commercial Advertising over the Internet.
