Internet Security Systems Appoints Sergio Gemo as VP of Channels

12:51:09 - 04 October 2005

Internet Security Systems (ISS) (www.iss.net) announced that Sergio Gemo has been appointed vice president of channels for the Americas and will play a key role in the Americas sales organization.

With more than 20 years of experience as a sales and channel professional, Gemo will work to ensure that the goals and strategies of ISS partners are tightly aligned with the company’s dedication to advanced security research and vision of providing preemptive protection for customers.

“In order to maintain a leadership position in a competitive IT market, it is imperative that we continue to evolve our channel strategy,” said Larry Costanza, senior vice president of Americas sales for Internet Security Systems.

In a recent security VAR survey conducted by Susquehanna Financial Group, ISS’ overall vendor satisfaction score is shown to have jumped significantly in Q2 2005. In addition, the survey indicated a 20 percent increase in ISS’ channel revenue in Q2 versus the previous year.

“With the addition of Gemo to our sales team, we are confident that these channel success figures will continue to rise,” said Costanza.

Before joining ISS, Gemo served as vice president of North America sales at Inkra Networks, a start-up security company, and at Alcatel’s enterprise division.

“Today it is essential for a wide range of technologies – from routers and servers to VoIP and wireless – to be infused with security measures,” said Gemo.
