13:50:17 - 30 June 2005

MarkMonitor (www.markmonitor.com), the leader in online Corporate Identity Management, today announced that it has been accredited by EURid to register .EU domain names. The .EU extension is expected to be one of the most important extensions since .COM.

With the .EU Sunrise launch anticipated to begin by the end of this year, MarkMonitor is now accepting 'Pre-Registrations' for both Sunrise Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Phase 1 of the Sunrise period is designed to protect holders of registered community trademarks, national trademarks, trademark licensees and public bodies. In addition to Phase 1, holders of 'Other Rights' under community or national law of an EU state will be eligible to apply for .EU names under Phase 2 of the Sunrise.

Bill Jacobs, MarkMonitor VP Client Services stated, "We are committed to simplifying .EU Sunrise procedures for our corporate clients. As in the past, we will be offering the industry's most complete suite of services to assist clients with the submission of names."
