VitalStream Teams with EyeWonder for Video-On-Demand Platforms

13:04:09 - 11 May 2005

VitalStream, Inc. (www.vitalstream.com), a streaming media solutions and global content delivery provider and EyeWonder, Inc., the leader in online video advertising solutions, today announced the launch of video advertising supported versions of VitalStream's MediaConsole®.

VitalStream's MediaConsole videos on demand (VOD) solutions are already in use by many Fortune 500 clients across the Web. The partnership will enable existing and new MediaConsole clients to easily and efficiently monetize online video content through the implementation of in-stream advertising campaigns powered by EyeWonder.

"EyeWonder's Fortune 1000 advertisers have been benefiting from the power of in-page video ads for five years, and now they are clamoring for new in-stream inventory," notes David Breckling, CEO of EyeWonder. "VitalStream and EyeWonder have joined forces to give advertisers the ability to reach the most engaged opt-in video audiences with a seamless, instream advertising experience. Best of all, these highly-valuable placements can be sold to
advertisers very similar to the way they buy TV spots, and they are available immediately."

Using VitalStream's VOD solutions and EyeWonder's proven online video advertising capabilities, the companies are offering a solution tailored for publishers, advertising agencies and media buyers. Media buyers can easily purchase video ad inventory across participating VitalStream customer sites. VitalStream's EyeWonder-enabled service offers trafficking control, flexible content-management features and detailed ad reporting to help users fulfill media buys and track ad performance.

The VitalStream / EyeWonder solution is already in use at one of the online advertising industry's top resource sites, iMediaConnection. Its new video portal, called iMedia Insight, resides on its homepage at www.imediaconnection.com, and features an interactive video play
list and 15-second video ad placements. "This new ad supported VOD platform makes bringing more video online easy, both on the technical side and on the financial side," notes Joshua Messinger, Vice President of Publishing at iMedia Communications.

"The fact that we can now monetize our video by selling ad inventory enables us to bring even more video to our site, which makes each visit even more engaging and rewarding for our audiences."

In-stream advertising represents a large part of the projected growth for the online video ad industry. A February 2005 report from the Online Publisher's Association (OPA) reveals that online video poses an increasingly rich opportunity for both interactive advertisers and publishers.

"This joint offering with EyeWonder fits perfectly within our growth strategy of providing solutions for customers in one of our key target markets," reports Philip N. Kaplan, president and COO at VitalStream.

EyeWonder and VitalStream will be formally unveiling its new ad supported VOD solution at next week's Streaming Media East 2005 Conference & Exhibition, May 17 and 18, 2005, at the Hilton New York in New York City.
