Innominate launches new mGuard bladePack for device attached security

- Stealth Mode gives added protection; what you can’t see, you can’t attack -

27 April 2005 - At this week's InfoSec show, Innominate Security Technologies launched its new mGuard bladePack. This innovative "device attached security" solution provides up to 12 small  mGuard appliances to deliver the highest levels of individual protection for business critical servers and systems.

Each mGuard blade provides high-speed firewall, VPN, hardware encryption and antivirus protection to secure specific IP connections along with audit and centralised SNMP-based management.  Regardless of platform or operating system, the mGuard bladePack is ideal for securing any mission critical system from SAP or Oracle databases and Web hosting servers to industrial POS systems, ATMs, medical instruments, automatic control technology and industrial machinery. Without the need to change anything in the system or network configuration, installation and set up is very quick and simple; ten fully-loaded mGuard bladePacks with 120 mGuards can de deployed in just a few days.

Through Innominate's patented Stealth Mode, mGuard devices are completely undetectable by would-be attackers, even using the same IP address as the system they are protecting. There is no way to bypass the mGuard system as it is installed directly at the Ethernet interface of the server or device.

"Unlike traditional security appliances that secure the whole enterprise or segments of a network with one security appliance and standard, mGuard gives the highest levels of protection where it is needed most," said Jan Johannsen, Director Channel Sales from Innominate.  "With our "device attached security", each critical system can be assigned its own firewall, VPN and virus protection with the exact level of security and access rights required. And because mGuards can't be detected, they can't be attacked."

Each 3U 19 inch rack mounted mGuard bladeBase with dual power supplies   houses up to 12 mGuard blades for individual protection of 12 separate server systems. An additional level of security can be achieved by combining two mGuard blades to create an automatic hot-standby solution should one unit fail.

Each blade is constantly monitored and in the event of any problem an alarm is sent immediately to the administrator via SNMP.

The Innominate Security Configuration Manager (ISCM) provides easy enterprise-wide drag and drop configuration of all the security devices. Security settings can be conveniently adjusted and loaded onto individual devices, VPN connections between separate mGuard devices or other gateways can be easily set up and everything is activated and monitored via a simple graphical network model.

The complete mGuard bladePack consisting of up to 12 mGuard blades and the bladeBase is available in the UK through Wick Hill and prices start at 7995 ˆ.
