StreamShield Networks to demonstrate world's fastest content security solution

09:39:17 - 21 April 2005

Revolutionary clean internet technology appearing at Infosec 2005

London, April 21, 2005 - StreamShield Networks today announces that its Content Security Gateway (CSG) product solution will be on show at Infosec 2005, stand 850, 26 to 28 April in London, UK.  The CSG is the world's first content security solution designed for network operators and service providers enabling them to offer their subscribers highly personalized, clean and safe internet services.

At the heart of the CSG is StreamShield's revolutionary silicon-based content scanning technology called StreamScan™.  StreamScan enables the CSG to monitor network traffic for a variety of content threats -- such as viruses, worms, Trojans, phishing, spyware, spam and inappropriate content -- in real-time at ultra high-speeds and take appropriate action if any threats are detected.  For example, the CSG can monitor over 250,000 web pages requests per second against commercial website classification databases, including SurfControl and the Internet Watch Foundation, and decide to allow/block access depending on each subscriber's individual preferences.

StreamShield will be demonstrating the CSG product solution along with its ShieldView™ management system, StreamShield.Net threat update service and the Protector Service Wrap: ShieldView enables the service provider and its subscribers to provision and customize the clean internet service to their own requirements, as well as provide real-time reporting on threats and content blocked;  StreamShield.Net delivers continuous updates on new threats as they emerge on the internet to fully protect subscribers; and the Protector Service Wrap enhances the CSG solution through capabilities such as per-user email quarantining.

Simon Gawne, CEO of StreamShield, comments: "For the first time we are enabling service providers and network operators to offer their customers clean internet services in which threats are blocked before the content reaches the subscriber.  We have achieved this major advance through our powerful StreamScan silicon-based technology that provides unparalleled performance without compromising the quality of protection or the ability for the service provider and/or subscriber to customize the service to their own needs.  We are pleased to be unveiling this exciting new solution at Infosec 2005."
