ICANN Meetings Open in Argentina

ICANN (www.icann.org) welcomes the Internet Community to Mar del Plata, in Argentina. This is ICANN's 22nd international public meeting and the fourth to be held in Latin America. These meetings constitute an essential part of ICANN's global consensus-development and outreach efforts.

The public meeting of ICANN's International Board of Directors will take place on Friday 8 April. Items that the ICANN Board will review include:

• AfriNIC Application for Recognition as Regional Internet Registry
• Corporate Governance Principles and Guidelines
• IANA Policy For Allocation of IPv4 Blocks to Regional Internet Registries
• The Designation of New Sponsored Top-Level Domains (sTLDs)
• Proposed Change to ICANN Bylaws Regarding New ASO MoU
• Proposed Change to ICANN Bylaws Regarding Number of GNSO Council Representatives

ICANN is extremely grateful to CABASE, the hosts for this meeting in Argentina, for all their support and the work going into providing this venue in Mar del Plata.

Addressing these meetings will be Patricio Seoane, CABASE President, and Arquitecto Daniel Katz, Sr. Intendente de la Ciudad de Mar del Plata, who will officially open the ICANN meeting.

All main Auditorium meeting will be Webcast (denoted by an asterisk in the on-line agenda above), remote participation is welcome.
