Sprint Enhances Email Security

15:25:52 - 04 April 2005

Businesses that depend on email communications to securely transfer important data can benefit from a new message archive service from Sprint (www.sprint.com). Message Archive efficiently secures, preserves and retrieves crucial information assets to help meet business continuity, legal discovery and regulatory compliance needs.

An off-site managed security service, Message Archive eases IT administration, reduces storage requirements and helps users quickly locate data, even with primary service disruptions.

Message Archive is the latest addition to the Sprint Managed SecuritySM Services portfolio and works in tandem with Sprint Email ProtectionSM service, a network-based solution for preventing spam, viruses and unwanted content from entering and compromising enterprise networks.

The growth and importance of business email has brought with it new government regulations and the need for effective archiving. Many enterprises in the health, finance and professional services industries must now comply with archiving regulations involving the SEC, NASD and the Center for Health and Human Services, which are enforcing laws such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA.

"Message Archive is a managed, off-site service that meets a variety of business or legal needs well beyond assisting with regulatory compliance," explained Tim Donahue, vice president - Enterprise Marketing, Sprint.

Developed in partnership with FrontBridge Technologies, Message Archive from Sprint provides a centralized email and instant message policy management capability.

Sprint has over 25 years experience providing network security expertise - to federal and state governments as well as business customers of all sizes - through end-to-end security in the Sprint network and partnerships with best-of-breed vendors such as FrontBridge Technologies.
