The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced today that Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications and a leading global IP solutions provider, is to become an International Partner of Davis Cup.

As the Official Hosting Partner of Davis Cup, Verio will be responsible for hosting the Official Web site of the event, www.daviscup.com and will also host the Official Web site of Fed Cup, www.fedcup.com.

The ITF tournament is 105 years old with approximately 140 National Teams and Tennis Associations involved. The daviscup.com site hosted more than a quarter of a million visitor sessions during the 2004 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final, and more than one million unique visitors and nearly 70 million visits in 2004.

The Davis Cup Live Scoreboard section of the site delivered an extensive range of statistics, serve speeds, trajectories and related information to Davis Cup fans worldwide.

"Verio has a proven track record of successfully delivering solutions for sporting bodies and events and we are delighted to entrust them with the Web site of our flagship property," said ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti.

"We are committed to providing our partners with service on demand and to guaranteeing the performance and capacity management of sites such as www.daviscup.com and www.fedcup.com which experience peaks and troughs of traffic during live games," said Martin Davis, vice president for Verio Europe.
