IBM Listed in "Leader Quadrant" for Data Center Outsourcing

IBM (www.ibm.com) today announced that analyst firm Gartner,Inc. has positioned IBM in the "Leader" quadrant in its Magic Quadrant research note for Data Centre Outsourcing in Western Europe, 4Q04.

According to Gartner, Leaders are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.

The Magic Quadrant helps buyers look beyond price and technical skills when choosing a supplier of data center outsourcing services. Gartner analysts use a combination of evaluation criteria to provide a comprehensive framework for analyzing a vendor's capability to deliver across Europe.
 
"IBM is very pleased to have been evaluated by Gartner and positioned in the "Leader" quadrant," says Joe Benaroya, General Manager IBM Europe Strategic Outsourcing. "We feel the results clearly reflect our accomplishments in meeting the growing needs of our clients and therefore ensuring their success is our success."

In total Gartner evaluated eight service providers, also taking into account independent input from their respective key clients.

It depicts Gartner's analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner.
