Renault Selects HP for Computing Solutions

15:39:31 - 11 March 2005

HP (www.hp.com) today announced it has been selected by Renault to manage and evolve the leading car manufacturer's global desktop computing environment over the next five years.

Through the deal, Renault plans to benefit from the economies of scale delivered by standardized IT environments, including annual cost reductions and improved service levels.

HP will also provide 24x7 helpdesk and eSupport (online web portal support), asset/license management and mobility solutions enabling access to email and Intranet communications via personal digital assistants.

Additionally, HP will develop an "Expertise Center" for Renault that will advise and support the company in all aspects of its computing solutions going forward.

Demonstrating HP's Adaptive Enterprise strategy to enable customers to synchronize business and IT, this project is aimed at helping Renault's technology-oriented functions better support the company's strategy of profitable growth and internationalization.

HP won the competitive bid by proposing a technical solution and services partnership approach that was built upon Renault's existing investments in standardization.

HP is a technology solutions provider to consumers, businesses and institutions globally. The company's offerings span IT infrastructure, global services, business and home computing, and imaging and printing. For the four fiscal quarters ended Jan. 31, 2005, HP revenue totaled $81.8 billion.
