Web Hosting Provider Peer 1 Network Opens New Data Center

12:17:41 - 10 March 2005

Peer 1 Network Enterprises, Inc. (www.peer1.net), a provider of Internet infrastructure, announced today the opening of a new 12,000 square foot data center in Herndon, Virginia.

This brings the number of Peer 1 data centers to twelve. This data center will be the first to house both Peer 1 Network's traditional colocation and bandwidth customers as well as serving as a data center for ServerBeach Ltd, Peer 1's unmanaged dedicated server company.

This facility has been built out to meet Peer 1 Network's high standards of redundancy and security. By the end of March the facility will be home to over 3,000 of ServerBeach's dedicated servers as well as new Peer 1 customers.

"The existing ServerBeach facilities in San Antonio and Dulles are bursting at the seams," said Rick Hingson, Peer 1's VP of Operations.

The Herndon data center will be staffed 24/7 by a full complement of both Peer 1 and ServerBeach technical and engineering staff.

"It is very exciting to have a new facility into which ServerBeach customers can grow," said Robert Miggins, Chief Operations Officer of ServerBeach. "This facility offers excellent scalability options for ServerBeach as well as giving our customers access to the world-class Peer 1 IP network. This gives ServerBeach customers a distinct advantage over the customers of our competitors."
