AT&T Wins $2 Million Global Networking Contract from Tuthill Corp.

CHICAGO - AT&T announced today it has been awarded a three-year, $2 million global networking contract by Tuthill Corp., a leading industrial equipment manufacturer.  With this contract, AT&T wins all of Tuthill's data services from MCI and becomes the company's primary networking services provider.

Under the agreement, AT&T will integrate 30 Tuthill locations across North America and Europe with an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN). 

Based in Burr Ridge, Ill., Tuthill manufactures a wide variety of industrial equipment including couplings, pumps, pneumatic systems, plastics, controls for cars and buses and heavy-duty suspension and axles for trailers, trucks and RVs.
The new high-speed networking platform provides Tuthill with increased bandwidth to support real-time engineering and business process collaboration and help manage its supply chain, inventory and distribution systems domestically and in Europe.

With the AT&T networking solution, Tuthill gains even greater levels of security and speed for the company's e-mail, proprietary applications, customer databases and billing functions. The solution also supports Tuthill's business continuity plan by providing automatic backup and rerouting to another facility in the event of a network disruption or disaster.  It also paves the way for Tuthill to evolve to a converged voice and data networking platform by deploying Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services in the future.
