Web Hosting Provider Terremark, LINX and Lucent to Host Global Peering Experts

13:11:58 - 16 February 2005

Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (www. terremark.com), an operator of integrated Tier-1 Internet exchanges and best-in-class network services, the London Internet Network Exchange (LINX) and Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU) today announced that they will host more than 125 global peering experts from around the world at the annual TerreBit Peering Forum to be held in Miami, Florida and the Bahamas from March 4-7, 2005.

The forum is designed to assemble peering coordinators from South America, North America, Europe and Asia in a neutral environment to discuss interconnection of their autonomous networks.

Peering enables data to pass from one network to another without the need of intermediary networks or bottlenecks. As pressure builds to lower the cost of doing business while improving network performance, peering has become an essential element of most network strategies.

The TerreBit Peering Forum will give delegates an opportunity to discuss different peering policies and peering economic models, as well as to meet the faces behind the corporate names.

Participants at this TerreBit Peering Forum include peering coordinators from AOL, BT, TeliaSonera, Ebay, Microsoft and Terremark's customers such as Savvis, Google, Cogent, France Telecom, Yahoo!, MCI, T-Systems, Telecom Italia, Teleglobe, Brazil Telecom and Packet Clearing House, among others.

The forum will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Miami, Florida from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2005, followed by a cruise to the Bahamas. The cruise will begin with a working session and there will be planned social events throughout the cruise and while in the Bahamas designed to maximize interaction between Peering Coordinators.
