BCS Global Networks Picks Cisco for Managed Voice Services

15:11:52 - 11 February 2005

BCS Global Networks Inc. (www.bcsglobal.com), a media services provider that specializes in virtual communication and collaboration services, today announced it is deploying the Cisco® BTS 10200 Softswitch to enhance its managed Internet Protocol (IP) voice service, "IPC Tone."

"Cisco softswitch technology will allow BCS Global to continually enhance our voice offering and deliver seamless and ubiquitous access to full multi-media communication and collaboration," said Piero Romani, president and CEO, BCS Global Networks Inc.

"Businesses are turning to IP-based communications as a means of driving productivity, increasing customer service and decreasing costs," said Vito Mabrucco, vice president of marketing, Cisco Systems Canada.

IPC Tone, BCS Global's Voice over IP (VoIP) service, provides companies with the ability to transmit voice calls over IP-based networks within their own enterprise on their own networks, bypassing traditional telecom providers and avoiding multiple charges.

For example, Norshield Financial Group, a Montreal-based money manager and investment consultant, chose IPC Tone for its Chicago and Toronto offices. By using both the Virtual PresenceTM video conferencing offering along with IPC Tone, Norshield was able to reduce costs by $15,000 a year and increase employee productivity by utilizing features such as four-digit dialing.
