DataCentres Europe Event to Highlight Regeneration in the Sector

17:56:46 - 07 February 2005

London, February 7th 2005 - In what promises to be a major event for providers, suppliers and players within the data center sector, DataCentres Europe (www.datacentreseurope.com) will highlight regeneration occurring in this oft overlooked market. Subtitled, Towards Regeneration; Change impact, and business opportunities in Europe, the programme and quality of speakers attests to the range of issues and high level of interest now emerging in the sector.

DataCentres Europe is sponsored by Corning and The Colocation Exchange, and will be officially opened by Lord St John of Bletso, the chairman of Globix. Mr Dave Tabors, General Partner at Battery Ventures, USA with extensive experience in the sector, will provide a special investment presentation. Media partners include Tarifica, Telecom Finance, WebHosting.info and Urban Marketing.

The programme will feature presentations by Globix, CBRichard Ellis, The Colocation Exchange, Corning, BroadGroup, TeleCity, Redbus/Interhouse, ViaNET.WORKS/PSINet Europe, Level 3, Corning, COLT Data Centre Solutions, APCC, Bill Dunster Architects, Battery Ventures, the National High Tech Crime Unit, BladeLogic, NetScaler, Fineground and BT among others.

The Colocation and Hosting Association (www.chaglobal.com) will re-launch their focus as an international alliance and platform at the Data Centres Europe. The focus of the organisation will be to encourage member organisations to work together and develop a common approach to issues including regulation, standards and finance. The CHA will host a special workshop at the event: Criminal and Civil liability for data hosters and data centers.

"The market for colocation, hosting and data centres has essentially transformed over the past three years, a transition that has been difficult at times and seen several high profile providers fall by the wayside," commented Nicola Hayes, marketing director at BroadGroup, the programme researcher and event producer.

"However, the convergence of new business initiatives, market drivers and technological developments suggest that this year will see the beginning of regeneration in the sector in Europe."
