Lieutenant General Harry D. Raduege to Speak at AFCEA’s South Florida Chapter Luncheon and Tour NAP of the Americas

Luncheon Scheduled for January 27th at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel

Miami, Florida - January 24, 2005 - (HostReview)  - The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association's (AFCEA) South Florida Chapter, a non-profit educational and professional association, announced today that Lt. Gen. Harry D. Raduege, Jr., Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency and Commander of the Joint Task Force Global Network Operations will be the keynote speaker at the AFCEA luncheon scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel in Miami, Florida. 

As Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency, Lt. Gen. Raduege leads a worldwide organization of more than 8,200 military and civilian personnel.  This organization engineers, develops, acquires and provides integrated command, control and information networks to serve the needs of the President, Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, the combatant commanders and other Department of Defense components under all conditions from peace through war.  In June 2004, he was assigned and delegated additional responsibilities with USSTRATCOM by the Secretary of Defense, as the first JTF-GNO Commander and Deputy Commander for Global Network Operations and Defense.  As commander, he is responsible for operating and defending the most complex and far-reaching military information networks in the world and providing USSTRATCOM with joint, integrated Information Operations support.
 
Following the luncheon, the Lieutnant General will receive a private tour of the NAP of the Americas facility located in Miami, Florida.   The NAP (Network Access Point) of the Americas is a state-of-the-art facility that provides exchange point, collocation and managed services to carriers, Internet service providers, network service providers, government entities, multi-national enterprises and other end-users.
