Web Hosting Firm Altiris Acquires Tonic Software

Altiris, Inc. (www.altiris.com) announced that it has acquired Tonic Software, Inc., a privately held company and leading innovator of Web application management software. With the acquisition, Altiris will offer customers enhanced server monitoring and diagnostics capabilities, extending its lead in comprehensive, value-priced IT lifecycle management for both servers and clients. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Tonic technology complements Altiris' current server monitoring product by extending monitoring and diagnostic capabilities for heterogeneous environments.
