Garland ISD Picks HP for Printer Solutions

13:02:58 - 23 December 2004

CDW Government, Inc. (www.cdwg.com), the government and education subsidiary of CDW Corporation and HP (www.hp.com) today announced a contract win with Garland Independent School District (GISD) in Garland, Texas valued at an estimated $1.3 million in printers, to help the district improve administrative efficiency and further its academic success.

"CDW-G and HP were aggressive in their bidding and gave us the best overall pricing package. And, just as important, we are very satisfied with their timely order processing and delivery," said GISD Executive Administrator of Technology Jim Hysaw.

GISD, located in one of the fastest growing areas of Dallas County, knows about cost effectiveness - the Texas House Select Committee on Public School Finance ranked it first in the state for financial efficiency.

"CDW-G is committed to responding to customer needs with a sense of urgency," says Chris Rother, vice president for education at CDW-G.

"However, we not only wanted to get Garland ISD the technology they need for today's academic advantage, but wanted to make sure we delivered products that will help them remain innovative in the years ahead. Quality HP printer products fit the bill."

The new HP printers will be used district-wide for various purposes, including printing report cards for some 15,000 GISD high school students, says Hysaw, who plans to implement the report card project in all 64 K-12 campuses.
