CentraComm Acquires ComWavz Operations Center

11:25:23 - 22 December 2004

CentraComm Communications, Ltd. (www.centracomm.net) announced the purchase of the ComWavz Network Operations Center (NOC) located in Bluffton, Ohio. The acquisition fits strategically in our 3-5 year business plan, says Lynn Child, CEO of CentraComm.

"The purchase of this facility was a market-fulfilling decision," says Sean Burke, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer of CentraComm, "We have been approached by clients looking for innovative solutions for co-location and disaster recovery. The Bluffton NOC provides an excellent opportunity to fulfill those needs."

The building was originally built as a hardened switching center for the AUTOVON (Automatic Voice Network), a long-distance telephone system for the US Department of Defense.

"In order to continue to provide the highest levels of quality, reliability and flexibility, we focus on integrating our network and facilities to achieve true fault resilience" noted Patrick Foxhoven, Chief Information Officer of CentraComm.

It was eventually sold to ComWavz, at which time it was completely renovated to support its network operations. The building is strategically located next to an AT&T underground Central Office where it is interconnected via fiber optics.

"In conjunction with our Findlay, OH-based data center, we are now able to handle the most complex client requirements."

The Bluffton Network Operations Center (NOC) will further enhance CentraComm's geographic coverage as well as expand its hosting and disaster recovery capabilities. In addition, the NOC also provides an added layer of redundancy and security for companies whose policies require it.
