Building on a commitment to expand its capabilities and product offering in the high-growth wireless business market, Sprint (www.sprint.com) announced today it has signed an agreement with Sybase, Inc. (www.sybase.com) to provide a wide range of Sybase(R) mobile technology applications that enable the secure delivery of data to mobile devices via the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.

These solutions are being jointly marketed and sold through Sprint and Sybase business sales channels and are designed to enable business customers to mobilize existing corporate information systems or develop customized applications for their mobile workforce.

Under terms of the agreement, Sprint and Sybase, along with its wholly owned subsidiary iAnywhere Solutions, will initially offer solutions targeted at the financial services, insurance, healthcare, government and education segments, including iAnywhere® Mobile SalesTM and Mobile PharmaTM applications and the previously announced Sprint Mobile Loan Officer and Sprint Mobile Claims Adjustor.

Business customers can equip their mobile workers to take advantage of these productivity-enhancing solutions using select Palm OS or Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices certified to operate on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network, including the recently introduced Sprint PCS Vision Smart Device TreoTM 650 by palmOne and the Sprint PCS VisionSM Smart Device PPC-6601.

"Sybase is a recognized leader in the mobile-middleware space and will be key to Sprint's success for delivering useful innovation to business customers in key industry segments," said Tim Donahue, vice president - Enterprise Marketing, Sprint Business Solutions.

The joint marketing agreement enables both companies to work jointly to assist enterprises in evaluating and understanding how these market-leading mobile solutions can be used to improve their operations and jump-start their mobile deployments.

"Sybase's mobile business technology enables customers to extend their custom applications and internal portals to mobile devices thus delivering critical data to the point of action," said Marty Beard, senior vice president, corporate development and marketing, Sybase, Inc.

Celebrating 20 years of innovation, Sybase enables the Unwired Enterprise for customers and partners by delivering enterprise and mobile solutions for information management, development and integration.
