Goodwill Picks Speedera for Its Website

16:50:28 - 09 December 2004

Speedera Networks (www.speedera.com), a provider of on-demand distributed application hosting and content delivery services, today announced that it has been selected by Goodwill Industries International to provide its comprehensive SpeedSuite family of services for the flagship Goodwill.org site.

"We applaud Speedera for its generous offer to ensure that the goodwill.org site is supported by the latest Internet infrastructure services and technology," said George W. Kessinger, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International, a network of 207 independent, community-based organizations in the United States, Canada, and 22 other countries that provide a wide range of job training and career services.

As part of Speedera's "Giving Back" program, Goodwill.org will be provided with Whole Site Delivery, Failover, Streaming, SiteAnalyzer, and all of Speedera's other services - free of charge.

Speedera's Giving Back program enables non-governmental, non-profit organizations to use the Internet more effectively by providing them with no-cost services for a faster, more reliable, more secure and more compelling Web presence.

Goodwill Industries selected Speedera for two critical business reasons, according to CIO Steve Bergman. "Speedera provides us with an additional layer of business continuity that we otherwise would not have," he said. "Security was also a key issue because we need to protect our brand and to ensure the integrity of our online services."

Under Speedera's Giving Back program, the company allocates 1% of its infrastructure at no cost to eligible non-profit organizations seeking to enhance their Web presence.

Speedera Networks, Inc. is a leading global provider of distributed application hosting and content delivery services. The company's SpeedSuite family of services provides on-demand services that cost-effectively solve the performance, scalability, availability and security problems of distributed applications and Web sites.
