National Arbitration Forum Approved as Dispute Resolution Provider

14:18:30 - 10 November 2004

The National Arbitration Forum and the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) have been approved http://www.icann.org/transfers as independent dispute resolution providers for the Transfer Dispute Resolution Policy (TDRP) as announced today by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

The policy is part of the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy, which will go into effect on November 12, 2004.

The Policy provides that registrars wishing to dispute another registrar's alleged violations of this policy may initiate a dispute proceeding with the appropriate registry operator or with an independent dispute resolution provider such as the National Arbitration Forum.

Decisions made under this policy by the registry operator may be appealed to an independent dispute resolution provider.

Based in North America, the National Arbitration Forum was founded in 1986. The National Arbitration Forum currently administers cases under ICANN's UDRP and other policies involving domain name disputes.
