New PowerCommerce 2005 Gets Storefronts on eBay in a Click

15:38:06 - 10 November 2004

Mercantec (www.mercantec.com) today announced the immediate availability of PowerCommerce 2005 featuring its new Mercantec Marketplace Manager for eBay. Now companies build and manage all aspects of their web storefront including direct links into eBay's marketplace in a single click.

According to Rieva Lesonsky, Editorial Director for Entrepreneur's eBay Startup Guide, "eBay attracts some 114 million shoppers who spent nearly $24 billion in 2003."

The Mercantec Marketplace Manager supercharges online storefronts and multiplies market reach for merchants. It's like having multiple stores in one—a direct to consumer storefront and a parallel method for listing any or all of their products for sale on eBay.

With it, businesses can easily build and run web sites that accommodate both variable and fixed-price sales simultaneously, speeding initial set-up and integrating numerous back-office functions.

"Each year more sales go through eBay," said Bill Tait, founder and chief executive officer, Mercantec. "With our new Marketplace Manager, small and medium-size businesses can easily leverage the power of eBay's marketplace to sell key products in a way that is integrated with their PowerCommerce web storefronts."

The Mercantec Marketplace Manager brings web hosting companies and web developers a value-added option for their customers. It provides a clear basis for premium hosting plans, as well as a way to create a suite of powerful services that can be offered to multiple segments.

Mercantec Marketplace Manager is a new component of the company's popular PowerCommerce 2005. PowerCommerce 2005 allows non-technical personnel to set up e-commerce web sites on their own.
