Tunise Telecom Picks Huawei and Redback To Create Nationwide Broadband Network

Redback Networks Inc. (www.redback.com), a provider of next-generation broadband networking systems, and Huawei Technologies Company Ltd, a global telecom infrastructure supplier, today announced that the Tunisie Telecom is creating a nationwide broadband network to bring ADSL broadband access and services to consumers and small businesses using systems from Redback and Huawei.

"We are pleased to work with Huawei in helping Tunisie Telecom build a national broadband network that offers the reliability, flexibility and scalability to meet the demands of a growing market," said Marco Wanders, vice president of sales and operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa regions for Redback Networks.

Redback is supplying its SMS™ 1800 broadband subscriber management systems. Huawei is supplying DSLAMs, a centralized network management system and DSL modems. Huawei is a global distribution partner for Redback.

Founded in 1996 and headquartered in San Jose, Calif., with sales and technical support centers located worldwide, Redback Networks maintains a growing and global customer base of more than 500 carriers and service providers, including major local exchange carriers (LECs), inter-exchange carriers (IXCs), PTTs and service providers.
