NetScaler, Inc. (www.netscaler.com) announced that SINA Corporation, an online media company and value-added information service provider for China and for global Chinese communities, has deployed NetScaler 9000 Series application delivery systems to optimize the performance and enhance the security of Sina.com, China's largest portal and one of the world's busiest Internet sites.

NetScaler's impressive customer list now showcases the world's four highest-traffic Internet properties - Google, Yahoo!, MSN and Sina.com.

"Millions of people in China were relying on Sina.com for the latest Olympic news and images from Athens and we wanted to guarantee that we could meet the demand," says Li Song Bo, vice president of engineering, Sina.com.

The growth and complexity of today's generation of business-critical applications as well as the need for a smarter, more secure application infrastructure led to Sina.com's decision to deploy NetScaler's comprehensive application delivery systems.

With 102.9 million registered users and more than 12 million active users for a variety of fee-based services, Sina.com is the most recognized Internet brand name in China and among the global Chinese community. Recently, Sina.com delivered news and information for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, working with the Chinese government and the Chinese Olympic team to provide live online coverage of the event.

According to Nielsen/NetRatings Market Intelligence report, traffic on Sina.com's Olympic site grew each time the Chinese national team received a gold medal.

"We are extremely pleased that SINA chose NetScaler to meet China's insatiable demand for live Internet content from the recent 2004 Olympics," states B.V. Jagadeesh, president and CEO, NetScaler.

SINA Corporation is an online media company and value-added information service (VAS) provider for China and for global Chinese communities.

The NetScaler 9000 Series application delivery systems provide improved application performance and hardened security for many of the world's largest enterprises, content providers and e-commerce vendors while greatly reducing total cost of ownership.
