Informatica and HP Team Up for Healthcare Data Integration Platform

00:00:00 - 27 October 2004

Informatica Corporation (www.informatica.com) and HP (www.hp.com) announced that American Healthways (NASDAQ: AMHC) has successfully paired the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform with HP Integrity servers to help improve outcomes for patients and reduce health care costs.

The leading U.S. provider of disease-management and high-risk health management services, American Healthways has experienced a four-year compounded annual growth rate in revenues of 48 percent, accompanied by exponential growth in the amount of data to be integrated and analyzed.

Currently with more than 1.3 million individuals under management, American Healthways uses Informatica's PowerCenter and Intel ItaniumĀ® 2-based HP Integrity servers to consolidate massive volumes of claims, clinical and pharmacy data.

"The powerful combination of PowerCenter data integration software and HP Integrity servers has helped us leverage our growing data volumes to optimize the care-enhancement services we provide to health-plan customers and their members.

The solutions have also proved to be a growth enabler for American Healthways," said Scott Kozicki, vice president and chief technology officer at American Healthways.

With jobs now completed in hours instead of days, American Healthways has additional capacity for adding new clients, and through HP's instant capacity on demand program, the company will be able to scale the implementation still further.
