00:00:00 - 25 October 2004

Loudeye Corp. (www.loudeye.com), a worldwide leader in business-to-business digital media solutions, today announced the immediate availability of its MusicStore Mobile services. The new offering will enable companies such as mobile operators, portals, retailers and content owners, to rapidly launch advanced wireless digital music services for their customers.

"Consumers are demanding access to music across a wide array of environments, and our MusicStore Mobile product enables wireless companies to leverage the accessibility and widespread popularity of mobile handsets to meet this demand, offer enhanced services and create incremental revenue opportunities from music sales," said Jeff Cavins, president and chief executive officer of Loudeye.

The announcement was made today in conjunction with CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment 2004, the foremost trade show on the convergence of mobile platforms and entertainment content.

Mobile media & entertainment is projected to become a key driver of revenue for companies involved in the mobile supply chain, especially as next generation mobile handsets capable of supporting rich media enter the market.

Informa projects that the number of MP3-enabled phones will more than double in the next year to 25.3 million units and reach 116 million units by 2008. Research firm Strategy Analytics projects that the downloadable mobile music market will top $17.6 billion annually in 2009.

MusicStore Mobile is the first service to enable companies to offer their consumers the ability to search a music catalog of over 750,000 tracks, discover new music and artists.

Loudeye's MusicStore Mobile is available immediately in the U.S. and Europe, with broader availability scheduled for Asia in early 2005.
