00:00:00 - 22 October 2004

SurfControl (www.surfcontrol.com) and Jungo Software Technologies, Inc., a provider of home/SOHO gateway software, announced an industry first as U.S. The combined SurfControl/Jungo solution protects U.S. Robotics (www.usr.com) customers from offensive and inappropriate Internet content.

It also helps small businesses prevent lost productivity caused by unrestricted Internet access, using SurfControl's world leading content database, which contains over 7 million websites, held in 40 categories, representing over 1.3 billion pages in 65 languages, with 35,000 new sites being added per week.

Mike Wolf, a Senior Analyst with InStat/MDR and the author of the ‘Broadband CPE 2004: Gateways Giddy-Up While Modems Ride Into the Sunset', comments on the service that SurfControl and Jungo can offer SOHO users: "The need for strong content control in today's home is essential, and the logical place for that is at the gateway.

Jungo and SurfControl's partnership provides CPE manufacturers with a ready solution that adds significant value to the end-user."

SurfControl's content database together with Jungo's OpenRG software, offers U.S. Robotics a highly reliable and easy-to-use Web filtering service, specifically designed for home and SOHO users.

According to Daryle Brown, product marketing manager, U.S. Robotics: Requiring no complex software installation, the solution is easy to manage. No software is needed on PCs or other terminals on the home/SOHO network, and a user-friendly Web-based interface allows the home user or SOHO network administrator to easily define the content allowed, both throughout the network and on each individual terminal.

SurfControl plc, the world leader in enterprise Web and e-mail filtering, delivers on its promise to help companies 'Stop Unwanted Content' in the workplace by continuous innovation, invention and expansion of its filtering products to address new content risks as they emerge.
