activAeon Launches activAeon XA 2.0 for License Monitoring

00:00:00 - 21 October 2004

IDC predicts that 34% of all software will be subscription-based by 2008; activAeon XA was developed in response to this demand and market opportunity.

The new version covers additional products and offers multiple report formats which gives management an in-depth view of license usage. activAeon XA provides real-time statistical analysis of enterprise activity for Microsoft server and desktop products as well as third party applications to enable service providers to quickly and accurately complete license usage reports.

"We are pleased to have the support of Microsoft's Web Services and Hosting division, as we are committed to providing a product that helps Web hosters, ISPs and telecoms operators," said Peter Johnson, CEO of activAeon.

activAeon XA produces a template of the Microsoft Order Entry Tool (MOET) for approved returns to either Microsoft or SPLA resellers. A range of intuitive usage reports can be run over multiple servers in geographically separate locations, enabling hosters to improve individual reporting granularity.

"We already provide SPLA customers with a centralized console to manage licensing reports for Microsoft software that serves the Windows desktop, said Andy Bowman," activAeon Product Manager.

activAeon XA is specifically designed for organizations governed by Microsoft's Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA). Version 2.0 supports additional Microsoft products including Exchange, Biztalk, Application Centre, Commerce Server, MOM, MPS, SPS and SMS.
